FACE Middle East has been making a number of visits to Lebanon to work on several Design and Supervision contracts in the area
Working for a third party logistics company, FACE M.E. completed construction of the first phase of this project in January. The team returned in March to finish the second phase which includes freezer and chiller stores. The rest of the facility operates a mixture of VNA, reach truck, block stacking and shuttle racking systems. A shuttled racking system is a compact storage system for warehouses where storage capacity is a prime requirement. There are no aisles or lanes between the racks therefore providing a higher density storage solution. Handling of the goods is carried out using the pallet shuttle within the channels, controlled remotely by the user. Handling of the pallets outside of the rack is conducted using standard forklift trucks.
FACE designed the 20,000m2 facility and is supervising the long strip floor construction. The floor slab construction has been specified to meet with DM2 for VNA and FM2 floor flatness standards set out in the Concrete Society Technical Report 34 – 4th Edition. FACE M.E. has developed a strong relationship with the client and contractor which helps to ensure the project runs smoothly and according to schedule.
Whilst work continues with Phase 2, the CoGri Middle East team proceeded with the wire guidance installation of phase 1 which has 11 very narrow aisles. The team will then be deployed to Dubai to complete a 1200 linear metre wire guidance contract. CoGri M.E. had two back to back wire guidance works in February, also in Dubai, where they carried out approximately 1000 linear meters and 700 linear metres of wire guidance installations.
In Ras al-Khaimah, FACE M.E. carried out design and supervision to a project for a cosmetics manufacturer. The client was very impressed with the work to a small extension of an existing facility that they are subsequently looking to award FACE M.E. another contract for their new 10,000m2 building in UAE.
Looking forward, India is a growing market for FACE M.E. and the CoGri Group of companies. Based on past work and growing reputation, the Group is seeing a rise in number of enquiries and are carrying out a number projects in the region.
